Hi all,
I have MM setup on my iPAQ 5550, using a BT308 reciever, I have a satelite lock currently showing 6 locked from my windowsill in the front room
Heres my problem / question... The maps I have installed are for Norfolk for my holiday, and im in Bucks
Would you be confident enough to say as soon as I get in to Norfolk, my position will show on the map?? At present when I click show position I get a window pop up with my current location and altitude.
So, am I ready to go???
TIA |

Depending on how you get to Norfolk it may take up to 5 minutes for the receiver to pick up the new location (imagine you switch the receiver off in the UK, fly over the pond, and switch it back on in the US). But if you drive there and leave the receiver on then it will have a fix immediately.
Once you got your initial fix the next ones will be quicker if you stay roughly in that area _________________ Lutz

Did your Norfolk disc come with the other maps such as OS 1:250k BG Road Atlas? If so just load a small area of this covering where you live and see if you're location is plotted accurately?
From what you say it would seem almost certain that all is well but this way you'll know for sure and you can even go for a spin to test it all out _________________ Darren Griffin |
