A speed camera in Toussieu, eastern France that was installed only the day before has been disabled by vandals. It reportedly took 14 hours to install the camera on Wednesday last week.

But less than 24 hours later, the camera's protective glass was sprayed with pink paint therefore rendering it useless.

The camera's position was chosen because of the large number of accidents and deaths on that stretch of road - the D318 to Heyrieux.

When I was living in France in 1970, new parking meters were installed in the main square in St Etienne... Two days later, most of them had had their heads sawn off. The French don't mess about if they think they are being ripped off Smile
