UK readers will be familiar with new coverage of ATM thefts by a gang who used gas to explode the machines and gain access to the cash drawers.
After a spree that saw 31 machines attacked and a haul of nearly £800,000 the gang was caught and they're now serving lengthy sentences.
But the story of the gangs exploits and how they were eventually tracked down is well worth reading, particularly the use of a GPS tracking device. This had been secreted in bundles of cash at a cash machine that Police suspected would be on the gangs list of potential targets.
After the gang attacked the ATM and collected the loot the tracking device led police to their hideout in Huyton.
