Two more galileo satellites have arrived in French Guiana ahead of their scheduled launch on 25th July.

Satellite numbers 23 and 24 made the journey from Luxembourg in containers aboard a 747 cargo aircraft arrived last Saturday and after transportation to Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou they were unloaded in the cleanroom and will now be prepared along with two more that will join them for the launch and are due to arrive later this month.

The Galileo issue is being widely discussed in the news this week. Quite how the government can claim that the EU are bullying us and excluding us from Galileo' when we knew full well that membership of the EU was a condition of access I cannot fathom.

It was not a condition of EU membership, non-EU countries who are members of ESA (as we will still be after Brexit), such as Norway and Switzerland, are also involved.

On one hand and Europe claim they want to continue to have a close security relationship with the UK after Brexit, then they turn around and say that we will be prevented from accessing the high precision element, on the grounds of security when we are no longer a member of the EU.

Well they can't have their cake and eat it. In the spirit of the divorce settlement, we should get a full refund of our contribution, and withdraw the right to use the any British technology in the project. Or the EU could stop acting like a petulant and vindictive child, and negotiate a security and co-operation agreement with the UK, which includes Galileo.

The incompetence is staggering and now comes the news that Airbus will move their work on Galileo out of the UK post Brexit. UK Space, switch the lights off and lock the door when the last person has left!

Grow up, I don't come here to read re-moaner rubbish. As with most of Airbus's highly politicised work share agreements, the work will be booked in France, Germany or Italy, and then subcontracted back to a UK supplier. That way everyone is happy - apart from the EU Tax payers bearing the burden of higher costs. But then the whole project has been paid for out of surpluses from the CAP which should have been returned to the member counties.
