Have you considered making a donation towards website running costs?.
Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!"

If you disable your adblocker then you'll see less ads than there are orange blocks.

Running the site costs money. We make some of that money from adverts. We don't have pop-up adverts, we don't have big full-page auto-playing video adverts. We have 3 relatively small, non-intrusive adverts on each page.

Do they really offend you that much that you have to block them?

MaFt - it strikes me that PGPSW need to contact Adblockplus (via a form on their website) to get an agreement that PGPSW's adverts are classed as Acceptable Ads, which are normally not blocked by Adblockplus (depending on the user's settings).

I have allowed Acceptable Ads, yet I cannot see them on PGPSW unless I whitelist the site.

Dales.

But what about all the other adblockers that aren't Adblockplus?

Also, it's not difficult to whitelist a website but ABP's 'acceptable ads' programme is a pain and they also reserve the right to charge websites for being enrolled. That, to me, is extortion - "pay us or we'll block your adverts"

Then block the message that tells you that you are ad blocking Laughing
Do you get money just if they are displayed, or only if we 'click through'?

The ad is immediately below the last post. You will only see the adblock message if you are blocking ads and it's just text between the big PGPSW logo at the top and the row of tabs.

just briefly turned on the ad blocker and saw the message. to be fair the ads are not intrusive. to turn the ABP off all you have to do is click the button once and it will remember to stay switched off on future visits.

compared to some sites the ads are not very intrusive. Also whitelisting is not exactly difficult.

Also you could always run Ccleaner after visiting

It worked on me. I saw the message, thought about it, and decided that it was never my intention to deny this site any income. I've switched off the add blocker for this site only. It really makes no difference to my experience as I ignore the adverts and just look at the posts.

It would be a shame if PGPSW couldn't continue due to lack of income.

As above - they are hardly intrusive.

I have no idea how to get an adblocker - I simply ignore ads.

Now if I could find something that would block my email crap I’d rejoice. I’m now getting something like 20 every time I open mail and it’s a real pain deleting them all. I’ve set up dozens of Rules, but they seem to be using pictures instead of text and obviously I can’t block pictures.

By law, each advertising type email should have an unsubscribe button or link.

If not then as you said, block the from address or setup a rule that deletes it.

Many years ago I setup a range of half a dozen email addresses. I'm careful who gets which one. Banks, trusted companies, friends & family, etc. I also setup some disposable ones that I use for potentially spam sites that I could delete if necessary.
So far though no issues.

All these emails have pictures as sending addresses, so it doesn't work. And going to the unsubscribe thing simply tells them that you exist so they can keep sending you their rubbish!

Many years ago, I set up a dozen email addresses and carefully limited the people I gave them to - really as a means of stopping problems from my younger brother who suffered a brain injury and in his care home now clicks on anything, so it fished up his adressbook and started using them as sending addresses - I discovered it when I got a mailerdemon message that an addressee didn't work. Unfortunately my sister sent an email to everybody on her addressbook telling them if they have not noticed that, I now have a new email address as follows. Sad!
