I have had this tomtom for 12 years although it was actually manufactured in 2000. Its still going strong. I update the maps about every 4/5 years (At £40 per year thats enough) and of course I use Pgps cameras.

I recently had to reset the TomTom and then update it. This appears to have corrupted the PGPS camera files causing the sat nav to continually warn me of redlight & gatso cameras that are not there and have never been in the locations indicated. It also fails now to warn of spects cameras.

On the 8th Feb. 2016 I downloaded and installed the current PGPS cameras but Im still having the same problems so I deleted the PGPS POI's but this did not remove the OV2 files as they are still quoted on TomTom's warning sounds screen. The screens with the bleep, boings, and chirps etc.

Please advise how to remove all the PGPS files from the sat nav so that i can download again and hopefully recover the excellent service provided by PGPS cameras again. Thank you.

Thanks

A few questions to analyse your actions.

Are you using a PC or a Mac?

Have you turned off, the TT cameras (assuming they were on by default)?

How did you delete the camera files? Within the 520, or using the computer?

If you only deleted the OV2 files, the warning sounds (OGG files), may still be available in the 'warning sound screen'.

There are 3, or 4, files associated with each of the camera categories, all named the same:

1. OV2, the locations file
2. OGG, the associated sound file (if used)
3. BMP, the icon file, of which there might be 2

Did you delete those also?

Hi maggie25,

This is similar to a thread entitled "No verbal warning for Specs cameras", which you started on Sunday 7th February 2016.

Regards,

Sorry Richard and Robert. Yes you are correct. Forgot where I had originally put it and also felt it needed more definition.

However to answer your questions Richard..

Using a PC dual booting Linus Ubuntu & Windows 7 I use Windows 7 to access the TT home app.

Sorry I dont remember if I turned off the TT cameras but for over 18 months I have been using PGPS with no problems.

Deleted the POI's using the PC TT home 2

Cant find the OV2 files (Where are they please)

Yes the OGG files are still there in TT sound folder & BMP files still there I have not deleted those.

My intention was to remove all camera files and start again with the latest camera download and voice files.

I notice that Pgps now includes the OGG files with the camera files. When I first downloaded PGPS cameras I think the OGG files were added afterwards.

This is the first time I have tried to update them since originally installing 18 + months ago.

Thank you for your reply Richard Please respond on thread mentioned above so Robert can close this thread. many thanks to you both.

If you fancy finding the ov2 files using Linux, here's how -

(its easier than it looks)

When in Linux, switch your TT on, let it start up and connect it using a USB cable.
Open the Terminal on your Linux machine

Type -
Code:
cd /
(there is a space between the d and the / ) and press return
Type -
Code:
sudo find -type f -iname *.ov2
and press return

Enter your pass word when prompted. and press return

Make your self a cup of coffee, when you return there shall be a list of all ov2 files on the TT, the SD card and Linux computer together with locations so you know where to find them. If you mount your Windows drive before opening Terminal, it shall find any ov2 files in Windows also.

Delete at will.

There are probably many other ways of doing this but this works as well as any.

EDIT - You can copy and paste the above codes into Terminal if it helps.
