Adding new POI's to Garmin 3598

Sorry folks, I know this is probably perfectly simple but it has me foxed Embarassed

I have downloaded a couple of new POI files from the Garmin site but have no idea how to get them onto my device.

Internet trawling had led me to downloading POI loader but the files I have are .gpi files and loader doesn't recognise them. Further searching suggests that all POI loader does anyway is convert csv & gpx files to .gpi.

Can anybody please explain to an idiot like me how to get these .gpi files onto my device please?

If they are already .gpi files just place them in the POI folder on your nuvi ... simples Wink

They do need to be in a folder named POI, either on the card or the device. When you say they don't show up where are you looking for them? They should show when you do a Where to, Categories and scroll down to Other Categories. Then depending on the files they could either be listed there in a category of their own or under Custom POIs somewhere.

Well the one on the device will be in the root anyway but if you create it on the card then ideally just \POI but it really doesn't matter too much as a nuvi will 'hoover up' .gpi files wherever they are ... often leads to confusion as folks say their POI folder is empty yet they are still seeing POIs Wink
