Hi all hope you all had a great Christmas,

Been a long time since on the site, I'm thinking of buying above ,I've looked on your speed camera compatible units and it says no POI, can see ov2 in list either does this mean can place your speed camera data base into the 2013 Go 500?

Thanks , maybe getting tomorrow

Unfortunately not - the newest TomToms will not accept POIs in any format. TomTom have promised this functionality at some point in the future, but there's no sign of it yet.

If you want to use the PGPSW speed camera database, you had better look for a different device.

No third party POIs. Don't do it.

I bought a TomTom Go 500 just before christmas... I thought I had read that they'd added POI functionality to it with the update, but I think I'd dreamt that. Oh well, will keep waiting! I'd have thought they can't really not add the functionality at some point, with people not too happy about the built in poi's.

Maybe, maybe not. The trouble is that TT are loosing their Revenue Streams. They are having to offer LifeTime maps to compete with other SatNAv makes and mobile apps. All that is left is Traffic, Voices and SpeedCams (POI's).

Isn't Traffic free with newest devices - it is the only one of the three they provide worth paying for

as my first Tom Tom with live traffic lasted about 18 months while my current Tom Tom with lifetime maps is starting to get a dodgy screen (unresponsive to the touch some of the time) at 11 months and 2 weeks you have to wonder what the value of 'lifetime' is.
But no POI's? When on holiday I load up all the National Trust and English Heritage sites not to mention all the supermarkets and the Pocket GPS speed cameras (Tom Tom's aren't a patch on them).
And I see bluetooth connectivity to the phone for making phone calls has gone too.
I've always found the live traffic to be a boon (when connected as that often disappears half way through a journey) but the new range seems to have lost so much functionality I wonder what the point of them is, might as well just buy a better phone and stick it all on there.
