VW Golf MK7 infotainment system

I was wondering if anyone is using an iPhone (4 in my case) in a Golf MK7 or other modern VW ?

The Infotainment system connects to the iPhone for phonecalls via Bluetooth (A2DP supported) and there is also a centre console iPhone adapter cable for iPod connection. If the source is selected as media (which means the iPod connection cable) then it seems to work well with the audio route set to the musical note and alerts come through the car speakers, however if radio is selected then obviously there is no sound due to switching source.

If I set the cameralert audio route to Bluetooth then it makes a fake phonecall and I get a slightly delayed sound through the car speakers. I could live with this and get a separate iPod to leave connected to the iPod connection cable.

I am interested to hear if any other users have got this combination working?

My general question is, is it possible to still hear the camera alerts while making a phonecall ? So far I cannot get this to work in either method described above, if this is the case then CamerAlert is not an option for me - a pity because it seems close to perfect otherwise.
