One more thing to watch out for in France are the new camera cars. They actually take speed measurements and video while driving.

Luckily they are all black Meganes as far as I can see. So if you see a black Megane, driving at just below the speed limit, 2 people in it and some stuff on top of the dashboard, make sure you adhere to the speed limit....

I have finally found time to follow your instructions, which was really quite easy. Thank you.

But either I have done something wrong or didn't describe my request properly.

I now have a red dot icon on the map where the speed camera is located, but the icon telling me the distance to the camera, in the top left-hand corner, still shows a camera. This is the icon that used to be a red dot and that I would like to turn back to a red dot.

Is there a way of changing that icon back to something innocuous, please?

Thanks for your help.

Philip

Yes that should be do-able, without too much trouble.

It sounds like you must still have the "double-sized" camera icons installed.

Look in your map's folder and delete any icons (.bmp files) with "X2" at the end of the file name.

Thanks, Andy. I shall give it a go.

Thank you very much for your advice, Andy. It worked perfectly.

I now have red, blue and yellow dot icons instead of cameras and have renamed the French OV2 files to "aRed dot POI", etc. No mention of a camera anywhere.

At first I thought it had gone wrong, but a reboot put it right.

You guys here are fantastic.
