As a long time Navigon customer (and previously Garmin), I am wondering if I should convert back to Garmin (as it now owns Navigon) or stick to Navigon software on an iPad Mini or similar.

Any views?

As a long term Garmin owner with 3 units currently (2 auto, one handheld) and a number previously I'd say return to Garmin Twisted Evil

I have had Medion/Navigon since 2005 and now have a 3 year old 4350 with 1 year old maps including several extras such as Michelin Red book.

I added Navigon Android over a year ago and now have it installed on a 9.4" Sony tablet S, a 4" Sony smartphone Arc S, and a tiny Sony Mini smartphone - all (legally) on the same single Navigon licence.

The reason I went to smart was to reduce the number of items I had to carry around with me and I now sometimes run 3 apps simultaneously - Navigon, Cameralert in background (pops up warnings as appropriate), and a bluetooth Garmin app which links to a Garmin HD Mechanic dongle which connects to my car OBD socket for average fuel consumption, etc.

I use the (wi-fi only) tablet linked to a tethered mobile in my 'van when on holiday and it works very well (Virgin offer 1 GB over a month for £5).

I will not be buying any more PNDs and will be sticking to Navigon+Android for the forseeable future.
