I've got that one covered, one of my colleagues admits to do 80 along that section coming to work mid morning so I'll soon find out.
I might also realise when I stop seeing the continual 80+ brigade at 05:45 in the morning, another time it's possible. _________________ Satnav:

80 on his speedo is probably only around 75, so wouldn't trigger a camera anyway in a 70 mph zone |

These cameras are variable speed and therefore wouldn't trigger unless active (ie a lower limit set). I understood they weren't set to catch motorists exceeding the 'normal' 70 limit.
I have been wrong before though ...... _________________ Mike

Yes, for my testers I was thinking more like 90 (I'm not sure if my van would do 90). _________________ Dennis

The cameras at the head of this thread are Specs, average speed, not variable. _________________ Dennis

According to the Telegraph report Quote: | Technical and legal difficulties have prevented the Highways Agency from switching on the network of 36 new digital cameras intended to enforce variable speed limits on the London orbital motorway. |

@Anita
I think that the point Spikey mikey and Dennis were making was that the thread is refering to the variable speed Gatso type cameras on the variable speed limit gantrys, but the picture at the top of the thread is of Specs cams, which could lead readers (and appears to have done) into thinking that's what the thread is about when it isn't. And the lead article does not make this realy clear. |

I thought Dennis had been so led. I should have realised he isn't fooled that easily!
