WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!!

I've only gone & done it!!!

Over written the mapsettings.cfg file on my new iP5 with the same file from my iP4 (both on iOS6)

This has imported all my Fav's etc

Now for the best bit - I got the aforementioned POI Viewer app on my iP5 and added in my company POI's as well as the Zip of assorted POI's from the PGW free POI's all via iTunes etc

Right I am completely happy now and i'm off to bed.

Uh oh my baby girl is teething - anyone got a fix Laughing Out Loud

Night folks ;-)

Nice one.

So I have put POI viewer on the IPHONE. Are you saying that I can, for example, add a Mc Donalds POI to my tomtom?

Any chance of a dummies guide please?

EDIT: Ive had a play and think that I get it now.
You add your POIs to POI viewer.
Browse POIs on the POI viewer app.
Select POI and then this opens in tomtom, all ready to navigate to.

Great workaround, but AFAIK won`t help with the PGPSW cams.

Still, I`m off to France next week so this will be good to store campsite locations etc.

Thanks, and sorry no fix for the teething.

EDIT AGAIN: Sorry Mikealder, I have just re read the thread and realised that I have just put what you said a few days ago.

The http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/mobilepoi mobile website does the same thing without loading any app? Just save the shortcut to your homepage to make it look like an App?

Search for the POI wanted in the database and click the link to "Navigate Via TomTom" and it opens TomTom direct to that POI?

Not ideal but it works.

I think the problem that Raptorfler and me had is that he wished to add his company POIs,and I wanted to add wilcamping and Aires France pois that are not on the mobile POI database.

I am slightly concerned how much data these use as I am restricted to 25mb a day when in France.

Like you say, it is a good workaround for most people who don`t require anything too specific.

Good point re the data if you are restricted.

Just to add I've bought the POI viewer app, and it's fine for a couple of quid.

I thought it might be a bit limited until I found how you view the map and let it track your current location. You can then overlay all your POIs and just click on one and navigate to it via TomTom. Pretty much the same as browsing map within TomTom.

Happy enough now can use this and run the Speed Camera App in the background.

Ok, I used disk aid tonight to copy over a custom poi group.
I got the usual error message that occurs now with ios6.
When I checked on tomtom the updated file has been copied over as the new poi's I added now show on the map.
Late now but will experiment tomorrow.

Just tried this on my iphone 5 running iOS6, I still get the error message and can't see any evidence of added files in the folder or on the map when running the app.

I would love this to not be the case!

Is the file transferred still there?
Does it date / time updated in DiskAID match the time last night?

Perhaps there was a sequence you followed / programs open etc, that you could re-create?

If there is a way that we could get this working, however convoluted it would be great!
