I cannot get my kmz files to superimpose into Google Earth.
In the Satsync users guide p18 it says drag and drop the kmz file into Google Earth.
When I do this all that happens is the filename gets placed at the left hand foot of the Google left pane and I cannot do anything further with it.
Is there anyone out there who can please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Convert your .kml files to .gpx using this, http://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php. about half way down the page, drag and drop your .gpx file into Google Earth and 'voila'. Very Happy

You could try double clicking the .KMZ file. Your PC should know that .KMZ (and KML) is associated and open Google automatically.

Neither of these suggestions has worked.
Nothing at all happens when I drag the gpx file.
If I double click on the kmz file dragged to the left pane of Google Earth a message appears saying "Windows cannot open this file...." etc. This seems to indicate that a vital file is missing from my system which is preventing Google from opening the kmz file.
If I continue by allowing Windows to search the internet for the missing file I end up with pages of websites that only add to the confusion and suggest that the registry needs cleaning.

I think that Google Earth is a program. If it is, when you are in Windows Explorer, right click on the .kmz file and select "open with" or "associate with", you should then be offered a list of programs and Google Earth should be among that list, if you select it, your PC should remember it for next time.

Sorry for all the "shoulds".

Send one of your .kml files to me via e-mail, see Private messages for e-mail, and I'll see if it wokrs on my system.

If I'm successful I'll let you know what I did.

I have solved the problem....much to my embarrassment.
I haven't been using the correct Google Earth, but the one obtained by going into maps via Google Chrome and then into satellite.
I downloaded and installed the proper Google Earth and my gpx files now open correctly. Directly opening kmz files results in strange additional straight lines being added to the track, but the gpx files work perfectly.

Many thanks to you all for your help and interest.
