The new postcode files are now available.

Thanks.

Edit: This is a bit unusual. Usually I get a 'zip.zip' file that needs renaming, but this download gives a 'zip' file straight away. I'll proceed with caution.

Can/does this file work with older maps?

Why does the zip.zip file need renaming and to what??

Yes, will work with older maps, Paul.

I wonder why the file would need renaming as well. WinRar understands what a 'zip' extension is......

I can't see the problem, it's a zip file with a zip directory inside, just extract to your unit and overwrite the files already there.

I'm running 8.75 map and the new post codes won't work on mine, just get "File Access Error" when I try to run it. I've had to go back to 875 version.

EDIT:
I unzipped the new downloaded file and replaced the contents in the ZIP folder on the TT root.

I'm running a mac + stuffit expander. I've tried the zip file on my One XL with 860 maps, and it cannot access the post code file. Have reverted to 860 postcodes.

Edit .....just to check things out, I redownloaded 860 postcodes from the PGPSW link. This gave me a decompressed zip.zip file on my desktop, which I renamed as zip and copied to the root directory. This is the process it has always been until the 890 version.

Edit2: reminded me I'd been going to put 885 on the XL. Went through the usual process and installed OK.

I've installed these new 890 postcodes but when I try to navigate to post code it says "file access error"

I tried just replacing the files AND also tried replacing the zip folder too but both the same Grrrrr!

I've also just installed the 890 postcodes, but they fail to work correctly.

Selecting the postcode option, when browsing the map, accepts the the first 3 digits, but doesn't bring up any street names etc..

Reverting to the previous version, normal operation resumes Confused

Apparently the "Dutch" postcode "Nederland.postal" work fine, just not the UK ones

TomTom has been advised of the problem with the UK files.

This is the response:

Somehow the incorrect side files ended up on the TT website. I have informed my colleagues in order to correct the mistake. No idea how long it will take to have the right files on the website, but I guess this should no more than one or two days??

dhn, good to see you have some clout with TT, I think you've earned it.

These are only for nav2 devices. For nav3 they have to be offered by MyTomtom or embedded in the map. I don't think they've sorted that yet?
