I have recently upgraded to the latest firmware for my 1005. Everything appears to be working fine and most of the upgrade appears to be beneficial.

However, I now seem to be unable to set the advance warning distance for the Tom Tom installed cameras. In the past I set up appropriate distances for PWGPS cameras and then set the Tom Tom distances to a minimum distance just as an extra safety device.

Does anyone know how to set up the distance now after the new firmware ugrade.

many thanks

Alan

As far as I know, you've never been able to set warning distances for the TomTom-supplied camera warnings, it's always been done by TIME to the camera.

But you're right there doesn't seem to be any way to change it now! Apparently it was a deliberate decision, but I've no idea why they decided to remove yet another user-option.

It's called 'TomTom knows what's best for you'! Twisted Evil

Yes you are correct, it was a time and not a distance limit. I found it useful to use PWGPS data set to a sensible distance/time and then have the Tom Tom data set more or less a minimal time from the site just in case. I also set it with a simple low volume "Ping" sound so that it didn't annoy or confuse. But now I get the full monty which is a little frustrating, and in my area there are warnings for sites that supprisingly are not on PWGPS. And at least one of the sites has been used within the last year.
Oh well, I'll just have to accept it for the time being.

You're far more likely to get false warning from TomTom's data.

If you know a site has been operating recently and we don't have it as active, have you reported it?

You can still change the sound warning, it's only the distance setting they have taken out (I'm fighting to get it put back in).
Go to the speed camera settings, select a camera type and it should give you the option to change the sound.
