help me switch from tomtom to garmin !!

hi all
i have a tomtom live IQ routes w europe. my fourth tomtom over the years. i hate this device. it switches itself off 2-3 times a day and reboots. route planning and replanning is slow.
when the HD traffic feature works its great. but there's a yearly sub and map updates are expensive.
i've been looking at the garmin 2340LMT which on the face of it seems good. free map updates and free traffic info, but.........
1. how good is the traffic feature. do you need a seperate aerial or is it all built in and work off a sim card like the tomtom?
2. i travel around the south east all day calling on customers so can i save these as points of interest in their own category?
3. how often do garmin update their maps? tomtom seem to do them quarterly.
4. is routing and route replanning fairly quick? on the tomtom i sometimes have to pull over as the re-routing takes a while and it keeps trying to send me down turnings i've already passed.
