I have a 1390T and have downloaded the latest Camera database...I know I need Sox application in my POI download folder...but I still cannot get voice warning to work. I am presuming that if I downloaded the wav voice pack with the database I don't need to convert the audio files...and they are showing up as wav files in the POI folder I am downloading so I can't see what I am doing wrong. I have unticked the Garmin safety cameras in proximity points and I am getting the camera ahead warning box up on the unit when I am simulating a route, I can also see the camera's in Extras/Custom POI'sExtras.

Any suggestions please thanks.
James.

I think that might be where you're going wrong!

Sox.exe needs to go in the same folder that POILoader.exe is installed in.
With latest versions of POILoader that is c:\Program Files\Garmin\POI Loader.

Full instructions here.

Hi Andy thanks for your reply...I have Sox.exe in the file you have quoted, it was in the wrong folder when I posted but I noticed my error and put it in the correct C drive folder, I even downloaded the camera database again and I have even tried an older POIloader version from Feb 2011 because I read that there could be a problem with the latest version.

I am thinking of downloading the MP3 voice pack and converting them to wav to see if that works, I have 3 files in my POI folder for each type of camera, one is a Bitman file, one is an MS excel file, and then the wav file, I presume this is correct?

James.

Ah well... it was a thought!

Your files in the upload folder sound right.

I can't see much point in recreating the wavs from the oggs, other people must have used the wavs OK before.

I'm afraid (as I'm not a Garmin owner!) that's me out of ideas. Sad

This problem is now fixed after reading another post in this section I downloaded an older version of sox.exe and now the Wav voice pack is working.

I can't believe I am the only 1390 owner that couldn't get the Wav voice pack working but it would appear in my case that it was using the latest sox.exe that caused my problem...I used sox.14.0.1 if it's of use to anyone else.

Kind regards
James.
