How do I know (latest map version and what is installed)?

Can you tell me how to tell what the latest Navteq map version is for my Garmin Nuvi 1490TV and where will I locate the Map version on the Unit?

Also, can I delete the unused language files from the database just leaving the English as the others use up a lot of memory and will never be needed.

Yep, and you can also delete all the unwanted keyboard, voice, text, vehicle and EULA files as well. Back them up first though just in case you ever need them.

Latest map version, just released, is 2012.20, and you can check what maps you have by tapping Tools Settings Map Info
