I have 550 live bought about 1 year ago it has not been updated since I bought it, I was not aware of the 60 mile limitation.

It only happens on the newer NAV3 devices (GO 1000, 1005, 800, Start 20, Via etc).

This might appear to be something of a dis-incentive to invest in the latest devices ... I have cash to spend but on the basis of this TomTom are not going to benefit ...

Thanks for the replies. It now looks that it not worth getting the TMC as it is not very reliable. So I will probably rely on TT live website and the normal RDS on the radio. I just hope I don't regret my decision if I get stuck in some traffic later on!!

I do think that HD traffic is worth every penny so go for that if you can afford it.
As a professional driver I do know where the traffic problems mainly are. I then use every tool I have to avoid being stuck with thousands of others. That day radio 2 gave a warning that the M6 was closed but I also knew that there was a problem at J10 M6 southbound before this, that HD traffic thought was about 10 mins and more than likely have got longer. I then would have had to pay to use the M6 toll which would still put me back on the Closed M6. Or just joined the tail end of people trying to get round the problem. Just give me the whole traffic on the route and I can then use my knowledge.
