I'm running CamerAlert in combination with GoPilot 8 live and have found a problem:

To have the verbal warnings, from CoPilot, at a reasonable level means the warnings from CamerAlert are much too quiet.
If I raise the general volume, on my phone or BT hands free, to a level I can just hear the CamerAlert warnings the sound level, from CoPilot, is so high it distorts at the speaker.

Is it possible to add in a sound level control, into CamerAlert, so I can raise the sound level to match CoPilot and obtain a good balance.

I'm using An HTC Desire running 2.2 (Froyo) with SVOX classic, English voice, Victoria.

Have you asked CoPilot to allow their sound levels to be reduced?

No, not yet, Darren but I will do (I'll see if I've the patience of Job).

I went to PGPSW firstly because in order to hear the CamerAlert voice, at a reasonable level, I have to max out the sound controls on both my smartphone and my BT remote.

Ideally I'd like to increase the sound level, of the CamerAlert voice (male) in CamerAlert.

I have dropped the sound level in SVOX to the approx level of CamerAlert but then, even maxing out phone & BT, both route directions & camera warnings are so low they do not attract my attention over the road noise on motorways unless I listen-out for them (if you see what I mean).

My Wink smiley was missing from my last reply. To be honest you're the first person to raise this as an issue as far as I'm aware.

Cancel my request, I've found yet another set of sound level controls & it appears HTC count the CamerAlert as media so I upped the media volume and the alerts are now at an acceptable level, I'll just have to be careful to drop the sound level prior to listening to mp3's with headphones.

Are you using Bluetooth streaming for the audio output from cameralert to your car? If so you "need" this excellent free app.

https://market.android.com/details?id=a2dp.Vol21

Basically, once set up, it monitors for a pre-set bluetooth connection becoming active, checks current media volume setting and stores it, then adjusts media setting volume to your "in car" setting. Then on disconnection it reverts the media volume back to its original setting.

PERFECT Smile

I did intend taking this (open source) app, and adding 1 feature, auto start cameralert Smile But have not had the time to even start to learn how to write an app, maybe if Lutz the genius is looking ???

While we're discussing volume control, can I draw your attention to this thread: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=87192 as I have a similar request regarding volume control.
