just bought a rider2 second-hand. loged into tomtom home and downloaded all updates.
2 problems, first it only accepts the first part of a uk postcode. second point - i've tried to install poi's to put into the rider2. extracted the relevant files into a folder within my docs. then connected the rider2 to the computer. i then copied all the poi's and pasted them into the poi folder within the tomtotm programme.
disconnected the unit, and then went into the unit to see if they were there and i can't find them.
what did i do wrong? Question

1. you neeed the full postal code database, normally located in the folder 'zip'. If you don't have it, then just contact TomTom, they can provide the required files if you have a valid map.
2. The poi file sshould have been placed inside your map folder, not in the 'poi' folder

good luck

As TuurG has answered, in the root of your Rider's filesystem, look for a folder named Zip. What, if any files are in there? Or indeed does the file exist?

If not, we can point you at a download of the relevant files.

All POI files go into your map folder, NOT your POI folder. And by 'map' folder, we mean the folder that contains your map data, the name will depend on what map your Rider has. i.e. it may be 'Great_Britain' or it may be 'Western_Europe" or something similar.
