I've had a Go 740 Live for over a year, and during that period it has suffered quite a lot from resetting while I'm travelling. TomTom service seem to have got is sorted, but I have never really understood the cause of the problem.

I remember recalling (from this website, I think) that Tomtom units will reset when they run out of memory. (Since I've had this particular unit I have said 'no' to the question 'may we collect time/location information from your journeys, which may have helped.)

Will the addition of a 2Gb MicroSD card help here - to prevent resetting while on the move?

What are the intended uses of the MicroSD card slot? I've found nothing useful in google-ing for the last hour!

The card slot can be used as an alternative to internal memory so that everything is on the card preferably a 4 GB one if you want lots of music or maps of other countries. Or you can have just the maps on the card and everything else on internal memory. The choice is yours.

On my early 510 there was only a card nothing else and my 530 has a card slot that can be used as I have described but it uses SD cards not the micro ones.

The prime reason for using a MicroSD in the Go-740 is for the new maps which are larger than the available storage space on the device, go for a 4GB capacity card though.

No point putting mp3 tracks on a card destined for a 740 though as there is no built in music player - Mike
