Hi and thanks for the app..

I noticed in the app. review in the Android Market (and a Google search brought up something related - I think - from "MaFt" dated 02/12) a suggestion that there may be issues with rooted phones/changing ROMs affecting the app. licence/unique ID.

Would you clarify please as I'm seriously thinking of moving from 2.1 to 2.2 and would like to know what - if anything - to expect.

Thanks

We're not sure if the device ID will be changed when you flash a new ROM. If it does you will need to contact our support team and tell them the new ID. We'll then switch it over in the backend, at no cost to you.

if it does change it then you can simply 're link' the device to your account as we now allow 3 devices to be registered then it won't cause you any hardship.

MaFt

I did such a ROM upgrade and it "appeared" to me that I may have used another of my 3 installations. The registration allowed me to link my device but did it link my 2nd device?

How can I find out? I only have one HTC Desire HD and would hate to burn up all 3 uses of this software through ROM updates Exclamation .

I change my ROMS a bit and I think I am on 2 hits now. I am assuming when I have a problem after anymore ROM updates that I will be Ok just contacting you? Is that correct?

Don't worry about it.

If at any point you receive the message that you have used your 3 installs, log a support ticket and we will remove the oldest device or one of your choice.

Yes, as per my previous reply.

Hi MaFt

Just Updated my Rom for the sixth time, now using Android Revolution HD 2.0.12.
The ID has now changed, for the first time. Smile

Take Care

Daren,

I have now made 2 such requests to the support system (2nd attempt just now) but yet to receive a reply so cannot use CamerAlert. I would like to continue to use CamerAlert after ROM updates so would rather not keep having to log a call to support to seek a reset of last registered ROM. Can you not change the registration process so that it is based upon the unique phone IMEI? This would avoid your system thinking that we have used our 3 device activations when in fact all we ROM changers are doing is changing the OS ROM.

Did you get the automatic acknowlegements? If not, can you check your spam folder for replies. Support will not ignore any support request but some reponses do go missing due to overactive spam filters. Failure to get the automated acknowledgements is an early indicator.

I replied to your first request on 18th Feb and on receipt of your 2nd ticket this morning I copied the reply to your email address.

We do not use IMEI for technical reasons.
