Various different itterations of the mapsettings.cfg file have been requested throughout the life of this thread with the same answer.

The supplied file is a demonstration as to what is possible, custom files to a specific end users needs can be created by the end user if the end user has access to a TomTom standalone navigation device running a recent map.

The reason behind this is that there are thousands of different options available when you try to configure all the options for all the different POI files available, to cater for a single requirement would be an endless task - Mike

This is absolutely brilliant !!

I have just driven up to the Lake District from Southampton and back. The supplied TOMTOM camera database is hopelessly out of date and it was driving me crazy on the M6 - not a camera anywhere but TOMTOM going wild with warnings.

Does anyone think TOMTOM does this to almost force you buy their speed cameras?

Thank God for Mike and PocketGPS World!! Very Happy

Its all working well but is there any way of having the original warning beep or Klaxon sounding when the voice announces an upcoming speed cam?

Not being picky but it would help me

Razz

EDIT:

Just found some ogg files that have the Klaxon before the verbal warning so I am happy now!

Hi All, A newbie here with the iPhone. Currently away from home but have followed the instructions and can see the cams on the map. Will give a proper go when I get back next week.

The questions is "does this mean that I have to upload the OV2 files from the Camera Database every time they are updated to keep up with the changes?"

Question

Anyone know when/if support for version 1.10 (released 10th April) will be available. Is Mike working on it? Thanks.

@docrob, There is nothing for me to be working on the set of files provided in the download on the first page of this thread when combined with a set of speed zoned ov2 files from the database will work fine with the v1,10 release from TomTom (assuming installed correctly) I checked this only last week just to be sure of what I am saying - Mike

Hi All,

I have installed and can get alerts whilst sat at home and can see the cams.
But the problem I am still having is I cannot see the cam's in the top corner.

Can anyone help?

FYI I am using the latest TT from iTunes on a 4s unit.

TomTom removed the top left warning shown in the original screen shots and video on the first page of this thread, to be honest it never worked very well with the retina screens in the newer iPhone hardware. You still get the on screen icons and spoken alerts if you follow the instructions fully - Mike

Thanks for clearing that up for me Mike. I went through 13 pages of the thread trying to read through on everyone's comment to find the cure.
