Hi all
I'm looking for a DC power cable for my Etrex Vista so that I can permanently plumb it in on my motorbike. Touratech do one with the electronic gubbins neatly sealed along the cable and not in the cigarette lighter bit. Trouble is it is £51.

Does anyone know of any other manufacturer who do these.

Thanks
Simon

I assume Garmin don't do them then?

There are DIY instructions on how to do this on the web, not for the faint hearted though:

Alternatively, you could get NiMH rechargable batteries and connect the battery charger to the 12v on your bike. When the ones in the Etrex go flat, swap them with the ones from your charger. Or just buy a cheap stack of alkalines - they last quite a while in units like the Etrex.

Check out RAM mounts if you need a mounting system, I use one on my CBR600. Touratech are but a fine piece of kit but somewhat expensive.

Good luck!

Thanks. I've got the RAM mount on my Pan. Used batteries in France the other week - don't they just run out at the wrong moment! I'm not that good with a soldering iron so I may go for the Touratech cable.

Cheers
