What sort of co-ordinates do you want to unput? OS, Lat/Long, etc.. Do you have any Mapsource software, e.g. City Select, Trip and Waypoint Manager or Worldmap? If so, it's easy to make waypoints on your PC and then download them to your Garmin.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about geocaching, but search Google for how to get started.

OK, I'm a bit confused (nothing new there, then!).

If it is British OS, the co-ordinates will be in the form of two letteres, then a batch of numbers, for instance

TQ 12345 67890

The more numbers, the more accurate the position.

If it is Lat / Long the co-ordinates will be in one of several formats, but will start with an 'N' or a '+' in this country, for instance

N51.39887 W0.38644,
N51 23.932 W0 23.186 or
N51 23 55.9 W0 23 11.2

The four co-ordinates above all point to the same place, but in different formats. It's important that you get the correct format, obviously. When you know in which format you want to input your co-ordinates , we can move on from there.

OK then, open Mapsource and ensure you're viewing European City Select V6. Click on 'Edit' and choose 'Preferences' from the dropdown menu.

In the 'Preferences' menu click the 'Position' tab. In the 'Grid' dropdown menu, find 'British National Grid'. Click on it and then click on 'Apply' in the bottom right hand corner.

This should put you back in the main Mapsource window. Click 'Edit' and select 'New waypoint' from the dropdown menu. This opens the 'Waypoint Properties' window. Call the waypoint 'Garmin' and enter the following OS grid reference in the 'Position' box.

SU 37791 20519

Click 'Show on map' and you should zoom down to Romsey in Hampshire, which is where Garmin's UK operation is. If you need to change the type of co-ordinates then instead of selecting 'British National Grid' as described above, select the correct Lat /Long type and proceed as described above.

Hope this helps.
