Are you saying that if the 'railway line in tunnel' doesn't show on the map then there is no phantom road tunnel whereas if the 'railway line in tunnel' shows on the map then there is a phantom road tunnel ?
Initially it appeared that way but I've just checked the tunnel between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, BletchingleyTunnel, on Tonbridge to Redhill line, and the approach tunnels to Dover, all rail lines are shown on map and no phantom tunnels.
So.
1. Channel Rail link line shown and phantom tunnels appear.
2. Strood/Higham Tunnels and Rochester to Gilligham (both around 2 miles or so in total), rail line not shown on map, no phantom tunnels.
3. The others I mentioned above (all less than a mile, if I remember), rail line shown on map, no phantom tunnels.
Teleatlas/Nav'N'Go? obviously changed the data after 2009.09
Maybe members living in Wales or Scotland could check with any 'long' tunnels they know of.
If I get time later I'll have a look at the Swiss map and see what shows. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

No, but I would have thought it unlikely that they would have identical errors. After all they don't even have identical actual map items.
That would have been my guess as well. As the phenomenon seemed to appeared with a map update, it seems pretty certain where to point the finger. How about TA for a start.
