I have just bought a 1490T and it came with a 60 day map update. I have followed the installation instructions, but how do I check that the new maps are downloaded properly onto the GPS unit? |

Go to "Tools | Settings | Map | Info" and scroll down until you find "CN Europe NT 2010.30" or whatever the current latest version is. (Menu details vary between units and I don't actually own a 1490 - but will be something along those lines.) |

Thanks for your advice, it was spot on. I have the version that you suggest.
One more question - I have downloaded the map, but in the download page it asks "download again" - I also have a Nuvi 5000, can I download this version to it?
I used the 1490T for a longish trip for the first time today - most impresssed, much better than the 5000. |

The download part would work, but the bit where it generates the matching unlock code wouldn't - so, no, not without spending money |
