Did factory and soft reset as a test, no difference to subscription. Did one hour journey, traffic tried to connect after manual server connection, after about 30 mins it dropped out and the sub reverted back to expired. 15 mins later I hit traffic!
Manually connected to server again, sub ok but still would not connect but it kept trying.
Looks like a format and reinstall as a last resort

I must admit I think my money is on the subscription side rather than a Live traffic failure purely because it's not coming up in My Services. If traffic was down then I would at least expect to see the side bar and the yellow triangle.
At the moment I'm not seeing either.
Maybe it's co-incidence but it's exactly a month since I took out the monthly subscription for the live services.
I'll see what tomtom have to say

I don't think re-formatting/resetting makes any difference. I'm at work, but have been trying it at various times during the day and it keeps coming and going.

I have the same issue (I think). If I re-enter my Username and Password and then reset the TomTom Traffic comes back. It then works until the TomTom is switched off. Then when switched back on the next time it tries to connect (spinning icon on the sidebar) and after a bit the traffic bar disappears.

That's exactly the problem Andy.

I got 2 replies today but they ignored / couldn't answer the third.

I've followed all the instructions including resetting, reformatting, reinstalling (all time that I didn't really have today) and I am nowhere nearer.

If I connect to the server manually the subscription is valid, then eventually, or if I let it connect itself, it times out and defaults back to sub expired.

By the time this gets looked on Monday I will have been without Traffic for 3 days (the service was one of the main selling points for me). I am one unhappy bunny. Evil or Very Mad

I lost HD traffic too on my 750 Live; evening of the 4/2/2010.

My subscription for HD Traffic showed as expired 5/1/2010 even thought he rest of live services showed 29 days remaining. If I tried to renew it said no need to review, subscription already valid.

It didn't work this morning or this afternoon, however it did work at midday and again now (9pm), showing my HD live subscription (and all other services) valid for 28 days.

I wonder if there is a subscriptions/database issue, or possibly a load issue as it works off peak but not during commuting periods.

My HD Traffic has been on and off today, and apparently I no longer have a Camera subscription (for the third time since Christmas).

Including the HD Traffic updating issue in November this is the fifth major LIVE Services outage.

I will log with TT tomorrow if it isn't back on, but yet again it is a server issue.

I have been looking for a tomtom device which has live service for my partner but the thing that bothers me is how many times you see on this site the amount of time it's playing up one way or another and for £7.99(I think thats the price) a month this isn't a good service, can anyone tell me do they offer a refund if the service is down of any sort and whether there is a better device that offers the same thing but more relible for the money thats charged.

I lost my "Google Search" Service for 2 weeks and they credited my account with 14 days service. However, this credit doesn't start until you decide to cancel the service, in which case it is added to your remaining time. I have also lost my Safety Alerts for 29 days without the problem being resolved and during the past week, my HD Traffic has been hit and miss. I would rather they refunded my subscription than gave credits.

I have only paid for 3 months on the monthly subscription, I got the XL LIVE in July 2009 and my current subscription expires June 2010.

All you have to do is keep asking them for a refund / credit and eventually they give in.

The HD Traffic has been on and off again this morning, and I still need a subscription for the cameras apparently.

This poor level of service must surely be damaging sales as it hasn't worked reliably since November, it lasts about 2 weeks and then a 2 week outage of some form.

I've logged yet another support request from them. Have tried everything they've suggested in the past with no luck. Like many others if i 'factory reset' it will connect and function as it should the first time i switch it on. If i switch it off then back on, apparently my subscription has expired or I don't have one.

Whats happening to me looks similar to what was happening when I had navcore 9 on my 540. Strange.

To be honest, I'm not that bothered. And thats only because after the last period of downtime for HD traffic for me (just last week) and the complete lack of ability for TT support to communicate with each other, they gave me 3 months free.

Spoke to a dozen people who kept telling me to do the same thing (clearly not reading the notes attached) until I spoke to the last guy who was a shining light for TT support and had me up and running in less than 30min.

That's imo not strange - the navcore9 that you get from various sites is not supposed to be for the x40-series.

Maybe after reverting back to an legal version some files are missing which cause problems. Rolling Eyes
