Hi,

Purchased this yesterday, and it certainly seems to do what I want. I have a question on TMC.

I gather this unit has the capability to use TMC, but an adaptor is required for it to work. The Mio one is nearly what I paid for the unit, and I'm not sure it's worth shelling out that sort of money as it would only be useful a couple of times of year (at most) on motorway journeys. My question is, is there a generic cheapie device that will work with this unit, or is the Mio one a necessity of I want to use this service?

Thanks

Believe only the Navman / Mio units will work, but they are really pointless (on ALL unit makes) if only needed a few times a year, and not that reliable due to FM coverage issues with TMC in general, and the likelyhood of coverage, unit picking it up in time to do something about it, you being in an area with significant problems all at the same time, if only going to switch it on a few times a year - I would take the risk and forget it - just divert if you hit traffic!

OK - thanks. I've been doing a bit of reading, and had concluded it would be a waste of money!

I can see what you mean,
£79.99 for the device, then £49.99 for the TMC kit
you are then close to spending the same money as the S505 which has the TMC biult in and more features than the M350
