Hi Guys not sure if this is the right place to post this but I have an HP Ipaq hx4700 that I have loaded garmin xt plus maps of europe on. I have a Pharos compact flash GPS on it which works fine with tomtom. I cant seem to get it to work with Garmin. Anyone got one of these working if so what do I need to set up on 4700 as you only get the options to pick com port or bluetooth or usb in garmin settings. I have tried com1 but no joy. Cheers guys

Hi Steve,
My understanding of Garmin XT is that it will work on a phone or PDA with a built-in GPS, but will only work with an external GPS if it a Garmin one.
Is the Garmin running on the supplied Garmin card, or did you try copying that onto the PDA memory?

I have XT running OK on a Dell Axim X51v with a BT GPS receiver.

From memory, you need to set the PDA BT settings so that the outgoing port (ie the port that programs connect to) is port 7.
The port for connecting to the BT receiver is port 9.

Turn off the option to allow Windows to manage the BT.

On mine XT then picked up the receiver straight away.

Hope you get it sorted.
