I have marked a location that I passed by storing it as a favorite but cannot see any way of extracting the coordinate information. Any help would be appreciated.

on the nuvi 350 you could go to:

where to / favourites /

then select the one in question. it would then display the name you gave it along with the coordinates.

not sure about the 660 though - where's PaulB_2005 when you need him?!

I think you can do it with EasyGPS. I'll have a look at the 765 later...

Thanks for the responses. The Nuvi 660 does not display coordinates when a favorate is selected. I have had a look at EasyGPS. The only thing that I see there that might help is being able to upload the favorites as waypoints. However, I am not sure whether that might also result in uploading all my POIs that are stored on th SD card. Wouldn't want that so if anyone could answer that question it would be most helpful.

I think if you load the Favourites into EasyGPS you can read the co-ords in the program or export them as a CSV which will show the co-ords. You don't need to load them back as waypoints.

I'll try to look at this later. Honest.

Plug the Garmin into your PC.
Use Windows Explorer to find the file

x:\Garmin\GPX\Current.GPX

Copy this to your PC. Open EasyGPS, select the OPen button on the top of the screen and navigate to the Current.GPX file on your PC. All your favourites wil be displayed at the bottom left of the screen with the co-ordinates listed.

Thanks much PaulB. I'll give it a try later today.

I recently found out how to do this on my 660 for general destinations and have adapted it this evening to work for Favourites:

1: Ensure that the GPS aerial is closed.
2: Where to? - select relevant destination, either by Address or as a POI, including custom POI's, or by Browse Map.
3: Press Map and then Set Loc.
4: Back out to main Screen which shows Where to?, View Map and Travel Kit
5: Touch top left of screen where GPS signal strength is normally to see "Simulating GPS"
6: Read off location as Lat and Long.

This does NOT work for favourites as the Show Map which replaces "Map" does not give the option to Set Loc. The work round is, with GPS aerial closed:

1: Turn on Simulation (Spanner, System, Simulator On)
2: Find your favourite and Show Map;
3: Mark a point a short distance away from the Favourite with the arrow that appears when you touch the map screen
4: Set Loc
5: Where to? , Favourites, select Favourite, Go
6: Wait for Simulator to reach the Favourite and then read off location as in 5 and 6 of the previous set of instructions above.

Tested and it works on my 660. It can only work on other units if the GPS can be turned off. No need for a PC. I have succesfully used the method to extract coordinates to calibrate a photographed map for use with Memory Map software on my PDA.

Very Happy
