I have an O2 XDA II and have recently loaded the Checkpoint software. Howwever, I run Tom Tom 2 on my XDA - I get the message out of memory. When checking available memory, there seems to be plenty.
Any advice? |

Precisely how much memory is free, and how many 'resident' programs (like task managers, GPRS monitors and the like) are you running?

In the main memory, there is 48.36mb free (storaage) and 49.35 MB free (program). On the storage card, coincidently a Scan Disk 256 MB card, there is 143.05 MB free.
Thanks

Memory isn't the problem - you have more free than I have in my iPAQ 3970.
Sandisk SD cards aren't the best, but I can't think that's the problem.
The number of processes may be something to do with this. There's a hard limit on the number of processes running at once under Windows CE of either 31 or 32. With all the bits and pieces installed on an XDA2 out of the box, certainly on the original ROM it was only something like 6 processes below that limit. I don't know whether it's any better in later ROMs.
Adding CheckPOInt into the equation means one more process than you had running without CheckPOInt - and I'm wondering whether that's the issue. That said, I'm pretty sure that when you reach the limit, one process gets closed rather than an error being generated.
I'm also a little bemused that this is in the Memory Map forum!
