Hi, Can anyone tell me how I convert the PGS POI's into the correct format for IGO8, the PWG download appears to be in Tomtom OV2 format only!
I have only just got the IGO8 and still trying to find my way around it so any help would be great thanks

For Speed Cameras just download the iGO ones, unzip and copy file/s into your speed cam folder.

If it's other POI's you want to convert then....

Try THIS

Just one other thought, if you put a new POI on you also need the poi icon even for speedcams ie fixed, mobile, red light etc, how do you put on the various icons to match etc
thanks guys

The POI icons appear to be built in. All third party speed cameras are shown as standard black camera outline on white image, you can't change them.

After you've added your POI's to iGO8/Content/userdata/POI, they will appear in My POI when you got to Find/POI.

You can choose a different icon by going to Manage/POI/My POI and tap on Edit, at the bottom you will see an icon, tap on it and you will get a choice of 82 different icons.

Quote:
Managing POI
You can select which POI groups to show and which ones to hide on the map, and from which zoom levels POI icons are visible. At the same place you can manage your saved POIs. A saved POI can be renamed, moved to a different POI group, its icon can be changed, or a phone number and additional information can be added to it.

I'd also recommend Linknet's Ultra skin v6.0.22 from HERE

As you're new to iGO8 there's one thing you should know re SPECS Cameras.

iGO is setup to recognise SPECS in pairs, in the UK they are multiple.

e.g. If there are three.

1. Start Section
2. Start/End Section
3. Start Section.

So, e.g., if you have passed the third/last of a 50mph SPECS section in roadworks and increase your speed, iGO will warn you your average speed is above 50mph, and will keep 'nagging' you. If you give a double tap on the warning icon on screen it will stop. (Saves throwing it out of the window. Razz ).

But I think that this procedure only cancels the alert without actually resetting the SPECS routine for the next cam.

I never noticed if it re-set or not, the problem I had was leaving the A2 where there was no SPECS camera, at that time, and the only place I ever had the problem. Before I found out about tapping the screen to stop the 'nag' I used to stop at the first available place to exit iGO and re-start. Embarassed

Linknet would probably know for sure so hopefully he'll come across this post and comment.

That's what I did until I wrote a routine in my skin to properly reset and restart the SPECS zone average calculation at every cam. You still have to cancel manually with a long tap on the icon when you (think that you) have passed the last cam. But at least this works OK for multiple specs cams.
