Have you found the password any use?

My feeling is that:
1. it makes it harder for YOU to get the thing going
2. it makes no difference at all to how likely the thing is to get stolen.
3. it is a piece of cake for any self-respecting crook to remove it, (if he doesn't just throw the TT away and nick another one instead).

I put my name and mobile number in the owner details then if I lose it, and someone honest finds it, he can contact me. Much more useful and I agree that setting a password is a waste of time as it will have already been nicked by the time the scumbag finds out it has a password.

And as Andy_P says:

And in the course of nicking it, the scumbag will have already busted your glass - they busted mine just to check that my satnav wasn't in the vehicle!!

I could remove the pin number and I'm not even self-respecting. Twisted Evil

To be honest, it's time TT withdrew this feature - it gives some people a sense of security which is both false and "dangerous" - dangerous in the sense that it fails to persuade owners to take proper care of their units. Bit like crossing the road with your eyes closed so that you don't get worried about oncoming traffic!

I wouldn't say remove it ,I would say they should go towards the mobile way of 3 failed password attempt locks the unit to a much higher code of numbers making it impossible to get to work .I use it in hope that at least it will slow them down and make them work for their effort to get it going Laughing Out Loud
