DAZ. Welcome to our forums. Welcome
IGO8 is vastly upgradeable, but the fist thing that you MUST do is make a copy of your SD card onto your computer. A legal copy of IGO will only run on the card that it was supplied on, so if you screw it up, there's not much chance of recovering the situation.
Which version of IGO do you have? Settings ~Right arrow ~ About. It will be something like 8.2.0.xxxxx.
You also need to be reasonably familliar with file handling and folder/directory structures on a PC to be able to 'upgrade'.
If it's a standard IGO, then it's easy to add our speedcam database, new voices, new colour schemes, etc.
Quit a lot of the IGO software is based on text *.ini files which are easily edited (if you know what you are doing) and there are a lot of 'skins' around which affect (a lot) how the display looks and the facilities and commands that are available.
PS please use caps and other punctuation in your posts, it makes a post quite difficult to read without them Very Happy

Hi again Daz.

10 out of 10, I would say.
I can probably help you here if you have a Windows machine. I don't know anything about Macs.
Basicly what you need to do to backup your SD card (assuming Windows) is:
1. Create a folder (Directory) on your PC called IGOBackup or something similar.
2. Stick the SD card into an SD card reader, or the slot on your PC.
3. Windows should auto detect this as a drive (say F: drive).
4. Open the drive to view all the files.
5. Highlight all the files then right click on the selected files and choose the 'Copy' option.
6. Navigate to your newly created (empty) folder on your PC
7. Right click in it and choose 'Paste'
This will copy everything from the SD card to your PC, so that if you screw up, you can always copy the files back.

Now that we know what version of IGO you have, we should be able to help further if you want.

You should have a folder on your SD card IGO8~Content~Speedcam. Can you confirm this please.

If you want the PGPSW database, highly recommended as the best, you will need to first subscribe to PGPSW then download the IGO database from the download page, extract the pgpsw.txt file and copy it into the 'content~speedcam' folder on your SD card. When you restart IGO, it will appear to hang on 'Initiallising warning data' (or something like that). This is IGO converting the .txt file into the .spd file that it uses internally. This 'hang' may last a couple of mins or so, so be patient. You should then see the pgpsw speed cam icons on the map (if you are zoomed in enough). Let me know how you get on.

Your card should have come with built in POI's, I suggest you get onto the supplier for a replacement card. If you bought it on e-bay you may have a 'dodgy' card.

I think your best route is HERE where you will find official map updates and extras.
