Here's a weird one for the illuminati.....

A couple of days ago, to wile away a dead hour waiting for my family, I swapped out the SD card that I normally run my Go720 from in order to play some games on v7 software.

When ready to go home, I went back to the normal v8 software and quickly re-did as many of the options as I remembered to do (When I go back to the v8 software, I always have to set up a load of preferences again -strangely not all of them- but I'm used to this).

While driving home , I realised the normal navigation screen was showing the road I was on in white rather then the normal red, so my first thought was that it had somehow swapped to an odd colour scheme.

But looking more closely, I realised it had the "crawling arrows" of TRAFFIC delays, and eventually I got to the end and it was showing the "Roadworks" symbol for an incident on the road.

OK... I'm used to this on other TomToms... BUT - this was on a ordinary Go720 with NO phone paired, it has never had a GPRS Traffic subscription and I've never owned an RDS-TMC aerial for it!

So where did my roadworks information come from! Stop it!

I haven't managed to get it to repeat the trick yet...

Go to Currys and spend around £7 for an RDS-TMC then you will know how the system works, at that price they are well worth trying, connecting it to the car aerial is easy should you want to hide the wires - Mike

I've got two other traffic enabled TomToms Mike, one of which is usually in the car too. Also, I've used the 940 with the RDS-TMC mount, so I know how it all works.

What I don't understand is HOW it worked this time. Confused

Clearly on the occasion it didn't work, somethings amiss but I wouldn't have a clue as to what might cause that, have you been looking at Traffic with the device connected to the online route planner recently? - Mike

Don't remember doing so... It wouldn't have been for a week or two even if I had.
It's got me totally flummoxed, I was really cross I didn't have the screen capture enabled at the time, so I can't prove it to myself!
