Crikey, I just updated and tried a demo route with Kate selected as the navigation voice. It was still set at 100% from 8.350 and it was so loud it made me jump. I quickly had to go down to 70% in a quiet room. Maybe 80% would be needed in the car. 100% before was just adequate at 30mph but 8.351 seems to have fixed it.

My favourite, Tim, seems marginally quieter but I think he will be ok.
So, as far as I'm concerned and without trying it on the road, I think TT has fixed it.

For those having/had problems with volume... was it with computer voices or the non TTS voices? Or both?

Well my problem was with a computer voice, but to be honest it wasn't that bad. Turned up to 80% was fine for around town driving.
With the 8.351 I've had to turn it down to 70%.

Have a TT720 by the way.

Edit by me.

All this on the SDHC card, nothing on the internal memory.

Updated my 930T, both internal and 8gb SD card to 8.351. No difference in volume still a 1/3 down on 8.302, but with 8.350 I had lost the My Tom Tom
facility in Home so had lost the password section during boot up, this is now working again with 8.351. Not noticed any other problems.

My volume problem in 8.350 was with Tim. I don't know about others because I never use any. In fact our 720 (and the Navigator on PDA before it) is nicknamed "Tim".

That's really weird because it was Kate that nearly blasted my ears off at 100% last night. I'm still waiting to try it out on the road though.

Since putting this on my devices I can hear no difference to the volume level it is the same as was employed with 8,350 still not quite as loud as the earlier Navcores - Mike

It seems marginally louder on mine, but not as loud as previous Navcores. That is using Kate 6.93 as the voice.

I am going to give Kate 7.10 a go and see if it is any different and if it cures the cut off words and repeated instructions that were present with 8.350 and Kate 6.93.

Volume level is fine in this version (v8.351), just as it did in the previous versions.

Ive now fully tested it,I would say the computer voice is working ok,But i can hardly hear kate,But ive found a new problem ok its not major but its still a problem,I keep mine fully charged so i was shocked to see my battery level right down,It even turned off when i didn't have it plugged in the car cigarette lighter, I thought please dont say there is something wrong,But before i started to panic i rolled back to 8302 and my battery lever is showing fully charged.

EDIT:

Even when it was in the cigarette lighter the battery level never moved.
