Hi,

I'm a web developer with a newfound interest in GPS devices and am looking for an ambitious new project to work on.

I have plenty of ideas, but without much experience its hard to know what direction I should pursue.

Few questions for you all:
- What tools (software and web apps) do you use for your GPS activities?
- What features on them do you use the most?
- Do you have a great idea for a tool that doesn't exist yet? Something that would help you a lot? If there's enough interest, I'd be happy to build it.

I look forward to hearing from you all.

Cheers,
Matt

Surprised there haven't been any answers to this!

My personal interest is in the TomTom models....
TomTom used to sell a Software Developer's kit, and a lot of third-party "apps" were made for it (see a list HERE.
Unfortunately there was a policy change at TT and they stopped supporting the SDK and every successive software update seems to take it further and further from compatibility with most stuff.

Some stalwart designers like "rousillat" and "joghurt" on the forums are struggling on, but if you have the skills to fathom out anything we'd all be very grateful!

One thing I'd like to see is a simple OSGB map reference to Lat/Long coordinates converter. There are a few on the web, but I've not seen anything for dedicated sat nav devices.
