Quest problems after downloading software update from Garmin

I've had my Quest for the last four years and never had a problem with it. After looking through the Garmin site I noticed a software update for the Quest. I duly downloaded the new software.

Then the problems started;

1. The unit sometimes struggles to find satellites

2. Will switch itself off after it can't find satellites for a while and then back on...sometinmes

3. Will sometimes freeze

4. A new screen of death appeared today ('Loader Loading') and then the unit froze.

I've done the master re-set and still the problems are happening.

It's been such a great little unit so I can only pin-point it to Garmin's new software update.

Any ideas? PLEASE!!!

Yep - exactly the same problems. I sent mine in to Garmin with £75 and received a refurbished unit to which I was entitled to the latest mapping (CNE2009) When that was loaded I installed the latest Mapsource version on the PC and system software 4.10 on the Quest - Guess what, same problem!

Back it went to Garmin for a another replacement into which I have loaded all the above - but fully expect the problems to return on this

You cannot fault Garmin's customer service but they don't seem able to determine if it's a system problem on the unit or one elsewhere

Wonder if you can rollback from v4.10 without causing further problems?
