Just downloaded and installed the latest version - all ok. Did the usual updates - GPSFix etc. Now all my Favourites have gone. Nothing there. Unfortunately I haven't backed my 910 for a while (I know I should have)
So I only have an old Map config file.

However on my partners 300 I backed it up first then upgraded and guess what all her favourites have vanished. I tried copying over the file from the backup but that doesn't work. In the end I reinstalled the whole system backup and all is now ok.

However I'm not very happy with my 910.

Beware

Peter

In addition to the GPSfix, etc, did you update the application version or the map itself? If neither of these changed, then there's no reason why the favorites would be missing.

If you did change one of these, then providing more information might allow someone to help you troubleshoot this and get them back.

Is there still a mapsettings.cfg file inside your map folder?

If you have updated your 910 to version 7.900 software it will have deleted your favorites.

It's a feature of this update Sad

IF you have no recent backup then there is no way to restore them. Time for a backup now before anything else goes wrong.

Updating my 910 to 7.900 didn't delete the settings/Favourites/etc, but upgrading the Map to 815 did.

Map is UK and ROI v.720.1803 and App version is 7.900

Only update was GPSFix.

Since the loss I have been typing in my favourites by hand, but miss out on the others that you get 'on route' etc.

If you store your favorite locations as a Point Of Interest rather than as Favorites you are much less likeley to loose them the next time tomtom decide to change the software.
