Do I take it that the concensus here is that for a prossecution to stick that you would have to average over the maximum limit (ie average over 60mph) over the timed area?

If there is some question over the speed limit, I'd suggest that you'd be foolish, and inviting a NIP, travelling faster than the lower of the possible speeds. 50MPH, in this case? For the same reason, I'd suggest that the warnings, for these cameras, are also set to the lower speed, until clarification is forthcoming.

Agreed, it is just so underhand that they are using what was the last camera set for the now finished M25 roadworks as the first in a new set of two.
I know that if I stick to the limit is not a problem, but watching for traffic, European lorries and two speed limit changes all in the space of about a mile can stretch the male brain a little

How are you defining temporary? 1 week, 10 weeks, 18 months, ...?
The ones that raised my suspicions at Cambridge were in for 6 weeks on roadworks, not a cable in sight.
I have no hard evidence for this assertion other than the missing cables scenario, I raised it more as a discussion point.
Has any body else noticed this anywhere else or do temp Specs communicate via radio.
I wouldn't get overly fixated with the cables! Where do you expect the cables to be going? I find it hard to believe, given the way that Gatsos, etc., are mistreated, that the authorities are going to provide a "control box" at the road side, as an easy target. _________________ Jock

What missing cables? Where do you think the cables are for all the other junk such as overhead gantries and emergency telephones? On major A roads and motorways they're in a pipe under the verge at the side of the hard shoulder is where!! They've got fibre optics, electricity and whatever else they want. Anywhere else, a portable generator and radio transmission does the business. _________________ Dennis
