Directions spoken only when going off route feature request

I am sure I am not alone is sometimes using the TomTom (in my case a 940) to track traffic and cameras, but actually don't need any directions at all (unless the traffic results in going "off piste").

I would like to see a feature where you can silence the spoken voices for drection, but still hear the warnings about traffic and cameras. And then if you re-reroute due to traffic, it starts talking at that point only.

I am sure I can't be the first to think of this need?

Just thinking aloud here...

My 720 allows you to select a non-TTS voice for guidance. When you do this it asks if you want a TTS voice for warnings etc.

I believe there is a silent voice available for the TomTom. If you used this for directions then you may still get the TTS warnings - but I'm not sure what would be missing and what you would get warnings for. You could use this to get camera warnings without direction for example.
