Selling on your old maps.

I bought a new map with card for my Tomtom one vers2. I thought that I would be ok to sell my old map on which I did. However, they guy who bought it says that it does not work on his machine and states "no maps". Are you not able to sell these maps on or is there something else you have to do to get them working please?

Once activated, a map is locked to that unit. The licence precludes re-sale of activated maps and a purchaser will find as they have done here that they will not run as they are tied to another device.
