New maps & soft ???

On the some HTC diamond devices, there is a new version of iGo8 available:
8.3.1., together with 2008.07 maps.
The first impression is: maps, skins, dem's are not compatible with iGo8.0.xx
I'm wondering what is making the iGo's developers policy so strange for understanding...
One small question: will it be EVER possible to have the maps & soft update with official way of release soooner than it will emerge on warez sites?
For example: soon it will be first anniversary of the BETA, NOT ACTIVE version of naviextras.com, I hope that it will be huge party and big event in Hungary related to it?
Again, seems that navngo policy can be expressed by: "sell and forget".
