Your help needed, please, TomTom One experts.

I purchased a One v4 UK&RoI about 18months ago, and it has seen daily use ever since. I have "upgraded" it by adding a 2Gb card, and also by buying the Spain and Portugal map. I have purchased TomTom's speed cameras (cos I didn't know this site had them) and the UK traffic which I connect via GPRS.

Recently I have been annoyed by it resetting itself just a few minutes into a journey. In fact, it all looks like the error "Cupra" posted on Aug 31st 2008 (see here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=70141)

I have tried the following:
+resetting by pushing a paperclip into the underside hole
+doing a "reset to factory settings"
+running the clearflash tool, which is mentioned on the reply to "Cupra."
+connecting via home to update emphemeris and clear the logging data

but it still carries on resetting shortly after starting a journey.

Its worth my stating that I'm still running application 6.650 and this is because whenever I load something newer it does get any further into the boot sequence than the splash screen.

Any suggestions, please?

If there is very little memory left on the SD card, this can cause it to reboot. I realise the 2GB card you bought probably means that this isn't an issue, but it's worth just checking the amount of free space left on the card.

An update, just in case anyone is interested! I posted a question on the Tomtom.com help (via its website) and after several days of exchanging messages, have upgraded the software from 6.560 to 7.162. This seems to have solved the problems, although its only early days yet... one day of bug-free operation.

The update to new software didn't make any difference, and the unit resets itself at least once per journey. It's now planned for TomTom to repair the unit.
