Porsche PCM 1 Sat Nav Software for Porsche 996

Is anyone able to tell me where I may be able to obtain more up to date mapping software.

Also, has anyone experience of removing the standard Porsche supplied Radio/Sat Nav (PCM) and replaced with a 3rd party system

Not sure what system the Porsche uses, but I suspect it's way out of date now. You can buy NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas CD Upgrades providing you know which system you are running and who the manufacturer of it is.

De-installing by a professional and installing a newer system shouldn't be a problem. If you're around the South of England or London area, try GPS Warehouse (ask for Adrian and tell him I sent you).

Most car de-installers charge around £70 to install a car system and anything from that down to half price to de-install a system. GPS Warehouse have approved fitters. Failing that most car audio places that are worth their weight in gold will know how to install/deinstall a proper system (providing they sell them).
