It's been a LONG time but I used to have the free Speed Camera POIs on my PDA installed with TT5 and I thought it was about time they were updated. I soon found that they were no longer free so I duly paid the £19 subscription and downloaded the TT OV2 files for the UK Speed Cameras.

I also downloaded some updated and added some of the other (free) databases.

The free databases are showing in the list of POI's no problem but the Speed Camera ones aren't showing at all. I've tried soft restarting the PDA and restarting the TT application yet the Speed Camera POI lists still don't show up.

Why not? Is there a config file that is still holding the old data somewhere? The old data being the old (free) Speed Camera POI's which I had set up to Warn When Near.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, how many POI files have you installed to your map folder, TTN5 has a limit of 39 custom POI Categories which will include the speed camera files.
The software decides which POI files to display once you go above the 39 categories with very unpredictable results, check to see how many files are in your map folder with the file extension .ov2 if its more than 39 you need to think about which ones you need - Mike

Thanks for the welcome, and your reply.

39 POI limit?!?! Hmmm. I never knew that. I've sure I had over 39 in there before but I probably never noticed the missing ones because the Speed Camera ones showed up.

As it happened, I now had exactly 75 POI's installed Embarassed So, no wonder it didn't work. I have so far whittled it down to 25 of the ones I really, really DO need/want so I presume I have space for 14 more.

I'd like the petrol stations and I used to have a file called Petrol_All.ov2 which listed ALL the fuel stations in the UK no matter what they were but now I see they are broken down into companies (BP, Esso etc) and thus result in no fewer than 26 OV2 files!!! Wish I hadn't deleted my Petrol_All file now!! Embarassed

By the way, can you tell me how many POI's TTN6 allows?

Thanks again.

You can download the Fuel POI file as a single file by choosing the Combine Sub Categories option, but only select 20 entries from the list - this will give you the fuel category, if you want the entire lot you will have to download them as two seperate downloads then concatenate (join) the two files into a single entity using something like POIEdit on the PC.

TTN6 permits 100 custom POI categories to be installed - Mike

from memory TTN6 allows 100? someone will likely correct me..

as for petrol, have you tried selecting the ones you want then click the "combine sub categories into a single category" tick-box? this will put all selected petrol pois into a single file like you had before.
