Getting around TeleType propriatary software issues?

Does anyone know if there is a special signal from the Teletype GPS receiver or the program itself that won't allow 3rd party CF receiver to work? If its something sent from the receiver, nothing you can do about it. However, it its in the programing, a hack could be made? After paying for $170 it and I cannot use my new Xtrack CF with it, I'm upset.
I have the TeleType CF GPS, but it not equiped with the Xtrack capability for hiking. Teletype supports topo maps but need a sensitive gps to go with it. Anyone know if the Fortuna Clipon BT GPS with dual mode is compatable with Tele?
Anyone know how to get around the Tele to make it work with my CF xtrack?
